MASTERS’ SHIELDS & ARMS of OFFICE

Masters of the Worshipful Companies of London and heads of armigerous corporations are entitled to impale their company’s arms with their personal arms for the duration of their time in office and as a commemoration of that time afterwards. This also applies to the heads of civic authorities such as mayors. When people reach this height in their careers it is frequently a reason for them approaching the Heraldic Authority of their country to obtain a new grant of arms if they have not inherited one.

Any of the items on this website can be produced with impaled arms for use whilst in office or as a presentation piece upon retirement.

A Master’s shield. With the kind permission of the Worshipful Company of Gunmakers. The Arms of Office of Watt as Chief Herald of Canada. Enamels and aluminium leaf on MDF.
